12th Annual Cider Days

Looking for something inexpensive to do this weekend? Stop by Cider Days on Historic Walnut Street in downtown Springfield. Last Weekend for Free Movies at Founders Park

Just a quick reminder that this is the last weekend you can catch a free movie at Founders Park this summer. Friday night you can see High School 3 (Rated G) and Saturday is West Side Story (Not Rated). Don't forget you will need to pick up your free admission tickets at the Busch Municipal Building, Doling Family Center, Mediacom Ice Park, Mediacom offices, or Chesterfield Family Center, before the show.

Inexpensive Friday Night Fun

Do you have plans for this Friday evening yet? Downtown Springfield opens its art galleries to the public for the first Friday Art Walk each month from 6-10pm. It cost nothing and it's a great time to enjoy local art. Find a list of the galleries here. While you are downtown stop by Park Central Square and check out their Farmer's Market.

If you want to attend the Art Walk but don't have child care consider Family Art Night at the Downtown Y. The Downtown YMCA offers child care for children ages 3 months to 12 years old from 6:30-9 pm every First Friay night. Missouri Sales Tax Holiday

If you haven't picked up your child's school supplies yet this weekend is the time. August 7-9 you will pay no Missouri sales tax on school related expenses. Here are the details: Clothing under $100.00 per item, software under $350.00 per item, school supplies under $50.00 per item, computers and peripherals under $3500.00 per item.

If you are going to Branson to shop for clothing check your junk mail collection or the Sunday inserts, there are 20% off coupons for the Tanger Outlet that you can combine with the tax free holiday.

Free Ozark Empire Fair Admission

If you eat at Hardee's regularly you could get free admission to the Ozark Empire Fair. For each meal that you upgrade to Large you get 1 admission to the fair. General Admission at the door is $6 for adults, $2 for children aged 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. If you get to the fair before 3 pm parking is free, otherwise it will cost $4. Enjoy!

Every Friday & Saturday evening through August you can catch a free outdoor movie at Founders Park in Downtown Springfield, MO. Free Tickets to Veggie Tales!

My daughter & niece love going to see movies at the theater, they call it the "big movie". Now through the end of the month you can get free tickets to see the newest Veggie Tales movie Minnesota Cuke and the Search for Noah's Umbrella.
